ANF Development, a pioneer in the production of alumina nanofibers, have launched their new product called Alumina Nano Fibers (Nafen™), a new revolutionary type of fibers of regular ordered structure with controllable diameter of 7 to 40 nm and the unmatched record fiber length of up to 15+cm. The product will be presented at Ceramitec 2012 from May 22 to 25 in Munich (Germany). Alumina Nano Fibers (Nafen™) is a unique nanomaterial, which can boast a wide range of identified and potential high performance and unique applications in such industries as: structural and multifunctional composites, catalysts, filtration, electronics, energetics, medicine and biology, agriculture.

Alumina Nano Fibers (Nafen™) is a unique nanomaterial, which can boast a wide range of identified and potential high performance and unique applications in such industries as: structural and multifunctional composites, catalysts, filtration, electronics, energetics, medicine and biology, agriculture. At present, with the information available on Nafen's properties, we can speak with confidence about the following spheres of application: · Composite materials – the so-called metal matrix composites, possessing high mechanical and thermo stability · Ceramic matrix composites – allow combination of high working temperatures, stability, flexibility, low temperature conductivity and chemical persistence. · Catalytic chemistry - development of compact high effective catalysts, new type of catalysts, and consequently – new chemical processes. · High temperature thermo isolation material · Nano powders with uniform composition for diverse applications · Nano filters – for filtration and separation of gases and liquid Technology and equipment for the production of alumina nanofibers (Nafen™) by controlled liquid phase oxidation of Aluminium have been designed and developed, and already introduced to pilot production setup in Tallinn, Estonia in August 2011, with production capacity of 0,5 kg/h, 24h/7 days per week with possibilities for mass production at available price.
