Dr. Daldrup-Link develops translational “cellular imaging” techniques for cancer and stem cell imaging applications. Examples of current projects: (i) evaluations of clinically applicable nanoparticles for the diagnosis of tumor-associated inflammatory immune responses, (ii) development of immune cell tracking techniques for monitoring cancer immunotherapies, (iii) in vivo stem cell tracking, (iv) imaging (stem cell) transplant rejection (v) evaluation of "smart", activatable nanoparticles for diagnosing stem cell engraftment outcomes. Dr. Daldrup-Link’s research lab has a strong focus on translational applications. Her lab currently conducts clinical trials on staging malignant lymphomas and sarcomas with iron oxide nanoparticles, based on an IND for “off label” use of the iron supplement ferumoxytol as a cell-specific contrast agent for MR imaging. Dr. Daldrup-Link’s research efforts ultimately aim to combine clinically applicable nanoparticles with whole body imaging techniques in order to create comprehensive, "one-stop" anatomical and functional assessments of specific cell populations in vivo, in patients.

Dr. Daldrup-Link completed her training at the Universities in Muenster and Munich, Germany, including her medical degree (1992), Radiology residency (2000), fellowship in Pediatric Radiology (2003) and PD thesis in MRI Contrast Media Research (2003). From 2003 to 2010, Dr. Daldrup-Link worked as an assistant professor (2003-2006) and associate professor (2006-2010) of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She joined the Radiology Department at Stanford University in 2010 as an Associate Professor of Radiology and Director of the Translational Tumor and Stem Cell Imaging lab.

Dr. Daldrup-Link is a member of the following: Board of Directors of the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR); the oncology committee of the SPR, the Children’s Oncology Group (COG); the editorial boards of the journals Radiology, European Radiology, Academic Radiology and Pediatric Radiology; the molecular imaging scientific program committee for the Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the World Molecular Imaging Conference (WMIC), and a member of the NIH-NCI Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Study Section.
