Dr Joe Wood has been a lecturer at the University of Birmingham since January 2001. His teaching areas are principally in Reaction Engineering, where he teaches Second Year Reactors and Catalysis and Fourth Year Advanced Reaction Systems. He also contributes to teaching in Process Control and Process Design. Dr Wood gained his PhD at Cambridge in 2000, and also worked for Albright and Wilson (now part of Huntsman), and BP Chemicals.

• Reaction Engineering – trickle bed reactors, monolith reactors, photocatalytic reactors, catalyst manufacture and characterization, infrared spectroscopy, chemisorption analysis, process intensification.
