Cheap and Efficient Solar Cells with PbSe Quantum Dot Photovoltaics

Description Recent advances have been achieved in solution-cast infrared photovoltaics through the use of colloidal quantum dots. Researchers from the University of Toronto describe stable solution-processed photovoltaic devices having 3.6% power conversion efficiency in the infrared, in a paper appearing in ACS Nano. Paper also contrasts PbS quantum dot photovoltaics with their PbSe colloidal quantum dot approach.
