Harvard-Led Team Use Single-Molecule Imaging to Study Cell Receptors

Description A research team led by Harvard Medical School professor of cell biology, Gaudenz Danuser has found that a cell’s structural elements control the movement of cell surface receptors, proteins that allow cells to get signals from different parts of the living organism.

This finding will impact drug production as well as treatments of tumors and other diseases, according to team members. Other team members are from University of Alberta, Edmonton, and Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. The study focused on action of human macrophages receptor called as CD36.
