Ink Containing Silver Nanoparticles Kills Malignant Bacteria

Description A Russian firm, Sun Innovations, has developed an antibacterial “ink” that uses silver nanoparticles. The ink can kill harmful bacteria, and is designed to be applied to printing multi-color images on any surface and any material, such as wall tiles in bathrooms and schools. The work builds on science that has demonstrated silver ions can kill some 650 species of malignant bacteria. In comparison, antibiotics destroys only from 5 to 10 species.
