New Cut-and-Paste Technique Assembles Proteins with Nanometer Accuracy

Description A research team headed by a German research team, led by physicist Professor Hermann Gaub of LMU (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität) in Munich, developed a technique called Single-Molecule Cut & Paste, where an atomic force microscope (AFM)’s super sharp tip enables the pickup and deposition of single biomolecules at the designated site with nanoscale accuracy. The team utilized a combination of DNA anchors, DNA-binding ‘zinc-finger’ proteins and antibodies.
